Megan Zimmerman is a Computer Scientist and Researcher at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in Gaithersburg, MD. She obtained her Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2017 and has been involved in the Human Robot Interaction research community since 2014. She has been working with the Intelligent Systems Division in the NIST Engineering Laboratory since 2016, specializing in intelligent human-robot interaction in flexible manufacturing environments. Her research interests include human-robot collaboration, embodied artificial intelligence, applied machine learning, and human-centered interface design, including wearable technologies and both virtual and augmented reality applications. Ms. Zimmerman is currently leading research efforts and human studies for the generation of robust datasets for human robot interaction and the evaluation of robotic interfaces in pursuit of new test methods and metrics in support of emerging standards.
